What is cooking now.  Willy has to be cooking up some Christmas.  Willy has to be cooking up some gifts for MS Willy and the kids.  Willy has to get busy.

Do you realize that it is 28 days to Christmas.

Willy has to get to cooking on those gifts and ideas.   Willy might also get to cook some at Christmas like he did at Thanksgiving.

Willy is not cooking turkey and dressing for Christmas.

Asparagus Mushroom Casserole

1 onion, diced
12 ounces of fresh mushrooms, sliced
1/4 cup olive oil
saute onions and mushrooms in olive oil till tender,
about 5 minutes and add:

2 tablespoons flour
cook flour for a few minutes and add:

1 cup milk
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon chicken base or bouillon
salt and pepper to taste
cook till mixture starts to thicken, set aside.

in a separate skillet saute:

1 pound asparagus, fresh and cut into 1 inch slices
1 tablespoon olive oil
cook fro about 3 or 4 minutes or until crisp tender.

Add asparagus to above mixture and put in baking dish, cover with:

seasoned bread crumbs
bake at 350 for about 30 minutes or until crumbs start to brown

Puppies vs. Babies! The Ultimate Showdown!

Willy thinks that his hunting dog is cuter than most peoples ugly redneck  baby but that might change when this grand baby comes along.  Willy's daughter even has a beautiful dog but when her baby comes along the dog will take a back seat.  The dog is cuter than your baby but will never be cuter than my grand baby

Go ahead.  Get out there and vote.  The world deserves to know. 

Me?  I voted for the cutest hunting dog out there!  That will change when Willy's grandbaby comes along in those camoflouge clothes.

Deserving Eyes are cooking,

Willy is cooking up the idea that it is time to get new eyeglasses.   It was not long ago that Willy went to the eye docto.  It was there that they told Willy that his eyes has not changed and he did not need new glasses.  Well, willy agrees that the glasses that he has is fine.  However, Willy believes that he will take this opportunity to get some great sun shades that are prescription.

Southern Roots

Being from the south meant I was really close to my family so when my wife got the job of a lifetime out here in Vegas it was a pretty scary proposition. I was worried to death that things would be so incredibly different out here and we’d never adjust but to be honest, other than the lack of trees and grass things aren’t all that dissimilar to being at home in the south! Housing is so cheap out here so we found a great place and have adt security las vegas and the two car garage and all that stuff we’ve been wanting forever. I can’t imagine a way of life that doesn’t include time outdoors with my kids and this is actually a really great city for that. There’s lots of hiking and day trips and places to explore that aren’t far away and even my wife is loving her new job which is good enough for me. There’s nothing I would do for some good southern cooking though!

Time For a Gift - Watch

Willy likes watches.  Willy was given a watch for his 8th grade graduation and Willy remembers that gift like it was yesterday.  Well, now Willy  likes great new chronograph watches

Cooking was about Food

Lots of Family in this past weekend and rather than writing this blog, life was really about food and people.

Nine people were in the house most of the time and everytime Willy turned around eating was happening again.  Two of these people were less than two years old and a wonderful challenge.

Willy did not write or even look at a computer.  Willy and Mrs. Willy was just cooking.

Alabama Cooked the Hogs

Alabama was much better than the razorbacks and they cooked up some mean pig sooie last weekend. The hogs head was handed back to the hogs on a platter.

Cooking up with hog jowels was the measure of the day.

Willy is cooking up some battery love today in Willy's kitchen.  What do you mean Willy?  Well, Willy loves his gadgets and Willy loves his cameras.  With all of these gadgets and all of these cameras, Willy is constantly finding that he can never have enough batteries.

Arkansas Razorbacks - Week 4

What is cooking for the Hogs this week.  Alabama is tough and we looked like a bunch of pussy's against Troy.  If the Razorbacks play like that against Alabama it will be a hog slaughter.  You can hear them circling the drain now.

Arkansas should be better.  Before the season started fans felt like we would be great against Alabama.  Now people like Tommy Smith, David Bazzel, Roger Scott  and R.J. Hawk are making bets where they will shave their head depending on who wins, Arkansas or Alabama.

Willy believes that Arkansas will get beat big time even though Willy likes the Hogs.
