STRAIGHT TALK - AUGUST

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Straight Talk for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

• I love the idea that I feel richer with Straight Talk because I cut my cell phone bill in half. You have to be crazy to be on a contract these days when you can get everything you need without one.  So call a friend or maybe mom knows best because of the fact that Straight Talk has such good plans and money saving ideas that there should be money left over at the end of the month to cook up some great electronics deals.

So, they are cooking up the idea that there are no contracts, no surprise bills and no credit checks. All of that with the idea that htere is great nationwide coverage they say that the reception is excellent.  Last but not least is the fact that  Straight Talk only uses trusted phone manufacturers like LG, Motorola, Kyocera, Nokia and Samsung.

Ok!  You add all of that with the fact that they have various great plans, 411 calls which are included at no extra charge, and all of this is free from activation, reactivation, or termination fees and you have a great deal.  Oh yes, Straight Talk has an  International Long Distance Service that is a flexible prepaid calling service that enables you to make international calls from your home, cell or office phone at low rates.

How can you beat all of that?  Watch this video and you will get a great feel for this service.

MarketRiders.com is What Willy is Investing With?

Willy is cooking up some retirement income and is looking at MarketRiders which is the Internet’s first online portfolio manager that guides investors in building, buying and managing a globally diversified retirement portfolio.  Them must be someone else words because what Willy would say is that this place looks like it is something that Willy would like to use for his Online Portfolio Manager and retirement portfolio.

This site looks real neat for Willy and has things like Portfolio rebalancing software and allows the Do It Yourself portfolio management style that Willy likes.  Yes, Willy likes sometimes to manage his own portfolio but Willy also needs some help sometimes.  That is where this site looks good is the fact that it allows many styles and Willy likes to do it many ways.

So, if you are cooking up a retirement like Willy is you might want to look at this site and see if it has the features and advantages that might be good for you and your portfolio.  You might be glad you took a look.

Glazed Double-Cut Pork Chops

Willy stole this one from the Food Network.   - The Maple Bourbon Glaze caught Willy 's eye.  The chops will have to be good but if not the Bourbon can be made useful.  10-4 Willy

Recipe courtesy of Food Network Magazine

Directions

Serve with Smoky Corn on the Cob.

Ingredients

For the Pork:

  • Kosher salt
  • 1/4 cup coarsely ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons packed dark brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 4 double-cut bone-in pork loin chops (about 1 pound each)
  • Vegetable oil, for the grill

For the Sauce:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cups diced onions
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 3/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 1 1/4 cups apple juice
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1/2 cup prunes
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground
  • black pepper
Prepare the pork: Mix 2 tablespoons salt, the black pepper, brown sugar and paprika in a bowl, then rub all over the chops. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate 2 to 4 hours.
Meanwhile, make the sauce: Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then add the onions and cook until translucent, about 4 minutes. Stir in the vinegar and brown sugar until dissolved. Add the ketchup, apple juice, syrup, bourbon, prunes, Worcestershire sauce, cayenne, 1 tablespoon salt and 1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 30 minutes. Puree with an immersion blender or in a regular blender.
Preheat a grill to medium. Brush the grates with vegetable oil, then place the chops directly over the flame and grill until marked and cooked halfway through, about 15 minutes. Turn the chops and place on a cooler area of the grill (such as the edges); cover and cook until a thermometer inserted into the thickest part registers 140 degrees F to 145 degrees F, 15 to 20 minutes. Uncover and brush the chops on all sides with the prepared sauce, then cover and cook until glazed, about 5 more minutes. Transfer to a cutting board and brush with more sauce. Tent with foil and let rest 10 minutes. Serve with more sauce.
