Bold & Spicy Meatloaf

Willy has not tried this one.  It sounds a little spicy but may not be all that.  Try it and tell Willy What you think!

 

What You Need

1 lb. ground beef

1   egg, beaten

1/2 cup Italian-style bread crumbs

1/2 cup  chopped green peppers

6 Tbsp. A.1. Bold & Spicy Steak Sauce, divided

Make It

HEAT oven to 350°F.
MIX all ingredients except 2 Tbsp. A.1.
PRESS into 8x4-inch loaf pan; drizzle with remaining A.1.
BAKE 40 to 45 min. or until done (160ºF). Let stand 10 min. before slicing.

Willy and The Car Connection!

 Willy is taking a break from cooking today to talk about the car connection.  What is the car connection you ask?  Well Will was wondering that himself so Willy went to their site to check it out.  What did Willy find.


Well, Willy found a site that can is all about cars and the support of cars.  It was on that site that Willy found that he could learn more about  car insurance companies .   Willy also found that he could find out a lot of information about different vehicles with reviews about the vehicles which enlightened the reader about the vehicle. 

So what vehicles were the ones that I wanted to find out more about.  Well, one of the first vehicles that I looked at was a  ford .  Why a Ford?  Well, they were one of the car companies that seemed to be in better financial shape during the tough times and I just wanted to know if one of their vehicles would be one that I wanted.   The next thing that I migrated toward were the Luxury Cars.    Yes, Willy thinks he would look real good driving one of those great big, beautiful, luxury sedans.   However, this is probably not practical so Willy went back to reality.

Yes, reality is that Willy is probably more comfortable in something such as a chevrolet silverado .  Yes, a pickup truck would fit Willy better.  Willy can be himself as he drives his truck around town delivering his cooked baked goods.  It is obvious that Willy likes automobiles.  If you like trucks and cars then maybe you can find information that you are wanting from the information that Willy has given.  Happy Hunting!

What to Cook

Willy's wife looks for something to cook each week that we can take to or three times to work that is easy and good.  One of my favorite things that she does this with is what she calls Hamburger Stew.  What is Hamburger Stew?  Well it is just about anything that she wants in it that is in the refrigerator or the pantry.

What is there this week. It appears that the stew has the beef stock base with Ground Chuck.  It appears that she added corn, rice, stewed tomatoes and other things.

Man is it good.

Pulse Oximeter?

Cooking with Willy would go amiss if occasionally Willy did not talk about healthy eating and about trying to promote good health.  That leads to the idea that many people today have a need to monitor their oxygen.  What you say?  Yes, this is dictated by people having asthma COPD and other lung or breathing issues that cause a need to monitor your oxygen as easily and as accurately as possible.  Even athletes who exhaust themselves find that this is a good thing to do.

Well, how do you do this.  This is where the device called a pulse oximeter  comes in handy.  This is a simple looking device that does an amazing thing.  You can simply put this on your finger and you can monitor your oxygen.  Simple but accurate and a device that gives you that knowledge and comfort that you need if you have that reason to know your oxygen level.


Willy is thinking that this might be a great tool if he gets to eating to fast and passes out.  Willy could then take that pulse oximeter and check and see if he passed out due to lack of oxygen.  Kidding aside, it is important to do this monitoring for many people and the best way to do that is with a pulse oximeter.  


So, something that Willy knew nothing about when his research started is now something that Willy thinks he would like to have.

Cooking with JK Adams.

Willy likes to cook and when Willy likes to cook he likes to do it in a kitchen that looks nice and has all the right things in all the right places.  This means that Willy wants some of the best kitchen utensils and supplies at the best prices.   Well, that is what Willy wants to talk about today.

Willy and the Hillbilly Wok

Willy purchased through the mail order a Large tractor disc that had been made into a wok for outdoor cooker use.  Willy has put out the cooker and put on the Wok.  It is really big.

Willy heated it up this evening and put on it a couple of frozen hot wings to just try it out.  Willy sprayed it with pam and turned up the heat.  As long as Willy kept the wings turning everything was fine.  When Willy left them for a few minutes they did began to stick.  Not a problem just keep them turning

Willy then put a tortilla on the grill and it cooked great.   Willy thinks this is going to be ok.

Cooking up a Trade with firstrade.com

Tri Tip Steak

Willy has heard that tri tip steak is the best grilling that he can get.  The problem is that Willy in his local markets can't find the tri-tip steak.    Willy is not familar with this steak.

This steak is supposed to have a great marbling and great tenderness if it is not cooked too long.

The Family Reunion has come and gone and the aspect of most of the time was -- What are we eating next.  Some came with much food cooked and plenty of deserts etc.

Lets cook up some real thinking by working on some real thinking persons studies.  What studies is Willy talking about?  Well, Willy is talking about things like online tutoring for K-12 and college students that is available through a site called  tutornext.com .  Willy is talking about how they can help you by providing online tutoring at the cheap rates.

Yes, when you talk to Willy about exact studies such as  Pre Algebra ,  Prime numbers and complex. Math Questions , Willy struggles.  Willy does have a masters degree in economics but Willy's math has always been a little weak.   In high school when they started with  Linear Equations there was a time that Willy was lost.  Shucks in had not been that long ago that Willy had learned How to divide and then when things like  Algebra equations and  Standard form came along Willy new it was time for some help.

So what Willy is saying is that if he had some online tutoring back when Willy was in school it would have been used extensively.  Now that this is available for all of those in K- 12 or college Willy can not see why it would not be used.  Online convenience with great help this tutoring just has to be the right thing to do.  That is my thoughts for now.

Eggnog Custard Pie

Willy ran across a recipe and asked Mrs Willy to cook it. It sounded like a good custard pie with a twist. It had rum and eggnog in it. Willy ain't much on the alcohol but has no problem when it is for flavor in a good recipe. Eggnog at this time of the year however is one of Willy's favorites.

Well, she cooked it and Willy ate it and it was good ---- try it out!

1 prepared pie crust

FILLING:

2 c. eggnog
3 eggs
2 tbsp. brandy or rum
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1/8 to 1/4 tsp. nutmeg, freshly ground preferred

TOPPING:

1 c. whipping cream
3 tbsp. powdered sugar
1 to 2 tsp. brandy or rum or substitute extract, 2 drops

Heat oven to 450 degrees. Prepare pie crust according to directions. Do not prick crust. Partially bake crust at 450 degrees for 5 minutes. If crust puffs, gently press back to bottom and sides of pan. Reduce to 350 degrees.

In large bowl, beat eggnog, 3 eggs, brandy and vanilla. Add sugar, salt and nutmeg, mix well. Pour into partially baked pie crust. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Remove foil and continue baking for 30 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.

In small bowl, beat whipping cream until soft peaks form. Add powdered sugar and brandy, beat until stiff peaks form. Garnish pie with whipped cream and sprinkle with nutmeg. Refrigerate any remaining pie. 6 to 8 servings.

Willy is searching for that great place to go and play golf and do the beach thing and maybe even do a little cooking or maybe not. Game Day Foods

Tomorrow is a big day for Willy.  His Arkansas Razorbacks are hot and are ready to take on Number one Alabama who may be hotter.  It is great when you see these hot slick quarterbacks come up against each other and get it on.   Can Ryan Mallett win out as the greatest quarterback this year.

What should we do to help.  My idea is to get some great food and kick back in the easy chair.  There I can kick back and as they gruel and grime on the gridiron I can watch the replays on the dvr at my own leisure and slip in some good ole pizza or popcorn or wings or corn dogs or just about anything hot and good or slick and slimey.

So what is your favorite game day foods.

Lets stop cooking and lets go to the beach. Several things have kept the old vacation from coming this year and I understand that the beach is clear and the kids are gone.
